Rishan Rapsang’s driver handed over to police

SHILLONG: A person who is the driver of Rishan Rapsang was handed over to the police by the relatives and friends of Rapsang family here on Wednesday as they suspect that the person who has been identified as one Bahdeng was involved in the recent attack on Rishan Rapsang   in the city recently.

Mike Pakyntein, a close friend of the Rapsang Family told reporters that soon after the incident, they spread a message in whatsapp that anybody who gives information about the attacker will be rewarded Rs 1 lakh.

Soon, they got a call from one person who said that the driver of Rishan Rapsang had visited Paltan Bazar to hire a auto pickup  whereas Rapsang family transport its good only through heavy vehicles

According to Pakyntein, on Wednesday morning, they left for the factory of Rishan Rapsang in Umiam and he was picked up from his quarter

“ The person whom we picked up told us that he was involved in the incident and he says he has not received the cash and he was supposed to get the stolen money in few days,” Pakyntein said, adding that as per the person, two three more people are involved in the incident

When asked if Bahdeng was involved in attacking Rishan Rapsang, he said that its upto the police to investigate.

A visit to the Police Station also showed that four other suspects were also detained by the police for interrogation.

Attempts were made to contact SP City on the matter but he did not responded to the calls
