SHILLONG: The Ri-Bhoi District Hockey Association (RBDHA) met the Sports Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh placing the proposal for the construction of state hockey stadium at Nongpoh on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, president of RBDHA, DS Malai said that the state has no stadium/playground for playing hockey and requested him to consider the construction of a hockey stadium at Nongpoh.
He added the construction of the stadium/playground will provide a platform for young sport talents of the area and the state as a whole. “We already have six acre of land for the construction donated by the locals,” he said.
The Sports Minister, Lyngdoh assured him that he will look into the matter and said he will call a meeting with officers to discuss the matter.
