Competition
Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban will organise a Dance on Hindi Song Competition as part of its 11th Inter Shillong Cultural Event on July 8 from 10 am at RLSSCO Auditorium (Bishnupur Community Hall) behind Sankardev College, Bishnupur. The competitions is for 7 group i.e. Group A – Nursery to Kg, Group B – Class 1 to 2, Group C – Class 3 to 4, Group D – Class 5 to 6, Group E – Class 7 to 8, Group F – Class 9 to 10 & Open group – Class 11 & above. Spot entry is also available.
Condolence
A condolence meeting was held in the OPD foyer of NEIGRIHMS on Friday at 2 pm to pray for the departed soul of Rajeev Pradhan who left for his heavenly abode on July 4. Pradhan was working as a Warden Guest house. Director, Dean, senior faculty, doctors, nurses and other employees of NEIGRIHMS joined to condole his demise with two minutes of silence to pay homage.
Trinity feat
Eleven of the 17 students of Venia Music School, Resubelpara and Williamnagar, who appeared for a music theory examination of Trinity College London in May, have passed with distinction and six have passed with merits.
Birth anniv
Sobujer Dol, a socio cultural organisation in Shillong will present “Megher Amontron” as part of the 157th birth anniversary of Tagore and 119th birth anniversary of Nazrul Islam along with the prize distribution ceremony of craft making and poetry competition on Sunday at 5pm at Laban Bangalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Nikil Mancho, Shillong.

Geetali – a socio Cultural organisation , Laban is organising the Rabindra-Najrul Sandha and Prize Distribution Ceremony of the recently concluded Intra Club Mohon Sen Memorial Carrom Competition & Inter Club Partha Sarati Dutta Memorial Carrom Competition on July 7 from 7pm at Harishava Community Hall, Harishava , Laban. Local MLA Sanbor Shullai will grace the occasion as Chief Guest.
