SHILLONG: The Laskein Block Welfare Organisation (LBWO) demanded the upgradation of Laskein C & RD Block to Laskein Civil Sub-Division.
Speaking to reporters, member of the organisation, Rikut Parien, said the demand to upgrade the Block has been a long pending one.
He said the Block is one of the oldest Block which was established in 1973.
He highlighted on the issues faced by farmers, locals residing in border areas, poor healthcare and shortage of manpower in two of the police outposts.
