SHILLONG: The state government is examining various demands for more civil sub-divisions in the state.
After the Ranikor civil sub-division, there was demand for Mawsynram, Patharkhmah and Laskein, among others.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters on Friday that these demands will be examined.
“We have received several memorandums from various quarters and nothing has been rejected as we are still examining each demand,” Tynsong said.
He, however, said the government will have to look into the fund position before finally deciding on the formation of more civil sub-divisions.
