Lok Adalat
The office of the District & Session Judge cum Chairman District Legal Services Authority Ri Bhoi District will organise a National Lok Adalat on all cases at the office of the District & Sessions Judge, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh on July 14 from 10 am onwards. All parties concerned are requested to participate.
Holiday declared
The Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura has declared July 16 as a local holiday therefore all government offices/ magisterial courts/ revenue/ educational institutions in West Garo Hills District on account of Recruit Celebration of Garo Labour Corps Day will remain closed on that day.
Legal campaign
State Institute of Rural Development, Meghalaya, Nongsder in coordination with the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong conducted the Legal Literacy Campaign at Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi District on July 13. The campaign was inaugurated by RM Kurbah, Ri-Bhoi DC who also released handbooks on legal literacy for use in campaigns in the state. Office bearers and members of the VECs of Umling Block attended the campaign.
Website launched
The Directorate of Housing has launched its official website at the NIC Conference Hall , here on Friday. Launching the website, M.N. Nampui, Secretary, Housing, said that the website is open for scrutiny as it is the duty of the officials to upload all the information and content into the website on a regular basis. T he website can be reached at meghousing.gov.in.
Unclaimed body
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong, has informed that John Nongrum (29) from Mawlai, Umjaiur, who was admitted on July 2 expired on July 11. Relatives of the deceased have been requested to claim the body within 3 days failing which the body will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
Prize distribution
The prize distribution of the art competition organised by Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Welfare Organization, Shillong on July 1 at Shillong Jail Road Boys’ Higher Secondary School will be held on July 15 from 3 pm onwards at Bangiya Shaitya Parishad, Jailroad , Shillong. Art and Culture Minister, AL Hek will be the chief guest.
