The Government recently issued the tender for the project worth Rs 3 crore
When asked how the State Government will manage huge resources for the project, Dohling said that this is the first phase of the construction and the Government wants to ensure the creation of the park in a step-by-step manner.
Meghalaya Government’s vision is to develop an IT Park in New Shillong where 450 hundred youths will be employed and the proposed park will cost Rs 580 crore.
The setting up of the technology park is complicated as the State has to compete with metro cities like Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata and the Department was also contemplating road shows to invite IT players after the Government okays the final model.
The State Government has allotted about 80 acre of land in New Shillong Township of which 10 acre has been allotted to NEILIT for setting up a training institute.
