KSU wants govt aid for farmers

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students Union (KSU) has urged the State Government to provide assistance to the farmers due to the falling prices of agricultural produce.
In a statement issued here, chairman of Farmer & Consumer Protection Cell, Reallystar Nongspung said the state government should come out with a plan and policy to improve agriculture in the state which will sustain the livelihood of the farmers and provide employment to young people.
He also urged the government to look into the grievances of the farmers during natural calamities.
