SHILLONG: On Tuesday, a call was made to 108 from Rait Laban around 2 am that one Banteilang Nongkynrih (25/M) attempted suicide by hanging. The victim was found unconscious with a red marks on his neck. CPR and oxygen was given en-route the hospital by 108 ambulance team and the victim was shifted to Shillong civil hospital. He was however declared dead.
On Monday night around 10 pm, 108 was alerted about a drowning case at Dhobighat in Laban. The victim identified as Suresh Thapuri, (40/M) fell into the river and was pulled out by a passerby. Lawmali based 108 ambulance team provided medical care before shifting the victim to Shillong civil hospital for further treatment.
