SHILLONG: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently visited Jowai in connection with NSCN(K) extortion cases.
However, details of the NIA investigation are not known.
A senior leader, Gaising Maringmei alias Ronal, of the Naga rebel group and two cadres were arrested in Jaintia Hills in May after the special cell of West Jaintia Hills police busted the outfit’s finance cadres’ group operating “somewhere in Khliehtyrshi”.
