SHILLONG: HYC Mawlai circle on Wednesday met the Executive Engineer, Campus Development department of NEHU and asked non-tribal contractors to obtain trading licence from the KHADC.
In a letter addressed to the Executive Engineer, the HYC said when NEHU floated tenders it had not mentioned that trading licence is required from KHADC for the non-tribal contractors.
According to HYC, the non-tribal traders are supposed to submit the trading licence at the time of submitting the tender documents.
The organisation also said contract work below Rs 50 crore should not be given to non-tribal contractors.
The HYC pointed to the addition of clause 19 in the tender notice which, they said, paves the way for non-tribal contractors to participate in the tender process without submitting their trading licence.
