SHILLONG: The case filed by the contender for the post of CEM, Grace Mary Kharpuri, will be heard after one week.
The matter came up for hearing in the single bench headed by Judge SR Sen on Thursday.
Kharpuri is challenging the election of the KHADC CEM HS Shylla.
As far as the similar case filed by PDF parliamentary party leader James Ban Basaiawmoit is concerned, the counsel for the petitioner made a submission on Thursday that he has been instructed by the petitioner to withdraw the case and sought one week’s time to file a formal application.
During the hearing on the petition filed by Kharpuri, the counsel for the petitioner submitted that the matter was urgent and wanted it to be posted for hearing.
The advocate general and senior counsel for the respondents did not have any objection and hence it was listed for hearing after one week.
