Theft
Pynhunlang Iawin lodged a complaint that on August 9 around 9.30 am, her domestic help Antisha Kharsyntiew (19) stole cash Rs 35,000, mobile phone, clothes and other items. Police arrested the accused.
On August 9 around 8.30 pm, miscreants stole cash Rs 2 lakh from the house of Tauseef Haider (24) at Howel Road, Laban, Shillong.
Satish Chaurasia lodged a complaint that on August 8 around 3.30 am, miscreants stole feeder cables valued around Rs 50,000 from an Airtel mobile tower at Umphyrnai village
Arjun Yadav lodged a complaint that on August 8 around 7 am, miscreants stole one Bolero vehicle (AS-01-AG-3600) which was parked near United Bank of India, GS Road Shillong.
Kamal Hussain lodged a complaint that on August 8 around 2.30 am, miscreants in one Maruti Alto car, waylaid his vehicle at Umroi, Nongrah (RB) and looted Rs 22,000 and two cell-phones.

Assault
On August 9 around 2 pm, one Malcom Nongsiej and five others of 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong assaulted Charles Nonglang. The victim sustained injuries and was removed to a hospital for treatment.

Foul play suspected
Julius Rynthong lodged a complaint that on August 8, his brother Khansingh Rynthong went to Nongmiangkhian village along with four persons, Phrosding Hashah, Marius Rongrin, Badondor Rongrin and Ebris Nongbri. However, in the evening, it was informed that the dead body of his brother was taken to PHC Maweit by the noted persons, who later absconded.
