State holiday delays KHADC lineage bill recall

SHILLONG: The chief executive member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, HS Shylla, said the letter to recall both the KHAD (Khasi Social Custom of Lineage) (First and Second Amendment) Bills will be sent on August 20.
When contacted, he said, “We have already prepared the letter, we could not send it on Friday as it was declared a holiday. We will send the letter to the Commissioner of District Council Affairs on Monday.”
The KHADC has decided to recall both the amendment bills of the social custom of lineage act to remove contradictions.
