Awareness programme on ill effects of alcohol

SHILLONG: An awareness programme on alcoholism and its effect was organised by Alcoholics Anonymous Foundation Group and Seed of Hope (Al-Anon Group), a worldwide organisation at North Eastern Police Academy campus, Umsaw, Ri Bhoi on Saturday.
Around 60 participants took part in the event conducted among officials, trainees and their family members to create awareness about the ill effects of alcohol.
The organisers conducted awareness programme at intervals in schools, colleges and in parts of the state. Any organisations or institutions who are interested in holding such events can contact AA Foundation Group Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shillong, a statement issued here said.
