SHILLONG: NPP MDC Pyniaid Sing Syiem has been appointed the first advisor to the office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem.
This is the first time that the office of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem has sought for an advisor from the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
The appointment came as a surprise to some Myntris of the Hima as the office of the Syiem has Myntri, Basan and other elders who give suggestions to the Hima.
Pa’iem Ainam Manik Syiem said an advisor was necessitated following the demand for relocation of the settlers from Them Iew Mawlong. Meanwhile, Pyniaid said the Executive Committee of the KHADC has given him the responsibility to be the advisor till the tenure of Ainam ends.
