Nongpoh: The website of Ri Bhoi News, ‘ribhoinews.com’ was formally launched on Friday by local MLA of Umsning, Jason Sawkmie Mawlong.
It may be noted that Ri Bhoi News is the first web based news portal launched in Ri Bhoi district with the main aim to information to the people about the district in particular and state in general. The CEO of Ri Bhoi News, Cores Marwein and Reporter-in-chief, Eric Ranee as the owner of Ri Bhoi News said that the news portal will try to serve the people and also to bring in all round development through media by reporting facts and unbiased news to the public.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun, Nongpoh MLA , Mayralborn Syiem and Shillong Press Club President, David Laitphang. They lauded the initiative of Ri Bhoi News to serve the people and as a web portal they can also educate and bring awareness on various public issues which will bring a change. Ri Bhoi NGO leaders and other well-known persons of the district were also present .
