Students’ science seminar held in Williamnagar

WILLIAMNAGAR: A one day District Students’ Science Seminar for students from class VIII to Class X was held at DRDA Hall No.1 in Williamnagar on Friday.
The seminar was organised by the East Garo Hills District School Education Officer and students from different schools participated in the event.
Inaugurating the seminar as the chief guest, A Ch Marak, ADC, informed the students that the need for industrial revolution should not cause environmental degradation and that the environmental policy must be adhered to while industries are being set up.
He also urged the students to participate in various kinds of inter-school competitions in order to boost up their scientific knowledge.
The District School Education Officer, Illa G Momin in her welcome address informed the students that one student will be selected during the seminar to represent the district in the ‘State Level Science Seminar’ which will be held in Shillong on Tuesday. During the inaugural function, the principal of Rongrenggre Govt. Higher Secondary School SG Momin delivered the key-note address while Trinity Secondary School science teacher PK Jha proposed the vote of thanks.
