TURA: In a first of sorts for Garo Hills and the residents of Tura, Nobel Peace prize winner and famous child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi will address the 2nd P A Sangma Memorial Lecture organised by NEHU, Tura Campus at District Auditorium on September 1st.
Titled “Building a Compassionate World for Children” the lecture is expected to be attended by activists, academicians, and ordinary individuals alike.
The Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, the founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan, with more than three decades of experience in the field of child rights, has dedicated his entire resources for the cause of the under-privileged particularly street and homeless children in India.
In addition to myriad of awards and recognition for his selfless deeds, he coincidentally shared the coveted Nobel Peace Prize with Ms. Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani activist for female education and human rights in the year 2014.
