MAWKYRWAT: Former MDC of Mawkyrwat and KHNAM leader Enbin K Raswai and his supporters on Wednesday decided to leave KHNAM and are likely to join the NPP.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Raswai informed that their decision to leave the party was finalised during a general meeting of the KHNAM Mawkyrwat circle on Wednesday. “Since no one from KHNAM is interested in contesting the council election in 2019, all the leaders observed that it is better to leave the party and join another political party as a group,” he said.
Raswai said, “We may end up joining the NPP, but we cannot say that because we have to discuss the matter with the NPP leaders.”
He said NPP will decide on the candidature for council polls.
