Sanbor inaugurates state-level training camp

SHILLONG: The State-Level Adventure Training Camp 2018-19 was inaugurated by MLA Sanbor Shullai, Chairman Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation at Upper Lumparing on Monday.
Others who attended the programme were D. Rapsang and R Myrchiang, District Youth Coordinator of East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi District. The camp which was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shillong was jointly organised by Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association.
Shullai lauded the hard work put in by the members of MeSCMA in introducing adventure sports to the state. He also promised the organisers to extend support to organise more adventure activities.
The objective of the seven-day long camp was to inculcate the spirit of adventure, discipline and fraternity among the youth. A total of 25 young people including nine girls from around the state will be train by qualified instructors from MeSCMA in various adventure sports likerock climbing, rappelling, river crossing, flying fox, jummaring and others.
