Poetry festival in Tura

TURA: In a first of its kind, an “All India Poetry Festival” is being organised by the Sahitya Akademi of New Delhi at the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU)  campus in Tura on September 17 from 10:30 AM onwards, informed the Department of Garo, NEHU Tura.

The day-long event is being organised in collaboration with the Department of Garo and English of NEHU.

Among the dignitaries expected to be present include Sahitya Akademi’s Editor of English, Ms Sneha Choudhury, who will deliver the welcome address.

The event is expected to witness participation of over 22 poets from various parts of the country who will read out their poems.
