KHADC organises meet of traditional chiefs on Oct 3

SHILLONG: A meeting of traditional chiefs, elders, headmen, Sordar will be held on October 3 at Students’ Field to be called by Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

KHADC CEM, HS Shylla told reporters after the Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday, “There was in-depth discussion on Council for Traditional Chief and Headmen in which chiefs, elders, chiefs of raid, sordar raid, and headmen. We have framed Council for Traditional Chief and Headmen rules in 2018.”

“For the execution of the rules, we have asked the chiefs, chiefs of raid, Lyngdoh, Sordar, elders and headmen to attend a meeting on October 3 at Students’ Field at 11 am,” he said.

He added there would be two sessions in which the first session would be dedicated to explanation of rules. After that there will be election of office bearers of the Council.
