2nd Open Futsal tournament starts in city

SHILLONG: The opening day of the 2nd Open Futsal Tournament, organised by the Futsal Association of Meghalaya in collaboration with the office of East Khasi Hills District Sports Officer through the District Sports Promotion Society and supported by the Futsal Association of India, began here on Tuesday at the Laban SC Indoor Stadium with 16 matches and 84 goals in all. There are 32 teams taking part in the men’s division and eight in the women’s division. The tournament will be conducted on a league-cum-knockout format. The opening match saw Shillong Press Club beaten by Wahingdoh Super 5 by a margin of 3-0.
