Fierce battle mark the 3rd day of Open Futsal Tourney

SHILLONG: Challenger FC, Umran Niangbyrnai (B), Board President XI and Touchline (B) have qualified for the knockout round of the men’s category of the 2nd Open Futsal Tournament, while Keanean’s United and Board President XI have qualified from the women’s section. Keanean’s United made it through at the top of women’s Group A by beating Board President XI 2-1 for a perfect three wins in three games today at the Laban SC Indoor Stadium. Board President XI’s men’s team also qualified for the knockout stage from the men’s Group C by defeating United Friends Club (B) 4-2 in an well-contested match today. Another interesting match saw Umpling FC edge Wahingdoh Super Five 4-3. Umpling were leading comfortably until Wahingdoh fought back with a couple of late goals, but ran out of time when searching for the equaliser.The final group matches will be held on Friday.
