Keanean’s and Tur Shaphrang win 2nd Open Futsal Tourney
SHILLONG: Keanean’s United and Tur Shaphrang FC Malki were crowned champions of the women’s and men’s categories respectively of the 2nd Open Futsal Tournament 2018 here on Saturday evening. Both finals were between evenly-matched teams and were fast and exciting in the action they delivered.  Nisilia Majaw, named Women’s Player of the Tournament.  Eight teams in all took part in the women’s category and Keanean’s United took home the winners’ trophy and Rs 15,000 in prize money. 7+3 Star’s goalkeeper Maitshaphrang Kharumnuid was adjudged as the Men’s Player of the Tournament. There were 32 men’s teams that entered the competition and Tur Shaphrang were awarded Rs 25,000 in prize money as well as the winners’ trophy.

SHILLONG: In a general meeting held at club premises Super Boys Sports & Cultural Club has elected new office bearers for 3 years. Chief Adviser Uttam Rai and advisers K Joshi, Mon Bahadur Rana, I K Taman and Sarita Gurung. President Prem Kumar Chettri, Vice President Surendra Thapa, General Secretary: Krishna Thapa, Joint Secretary Rajesh Thapa, Treasurer Lalit Chettri, Jammuna Thapa. Cultural Secretary Ajay Thapa, Shisir Chettri, Bishnu Burathoki, Sports Secetary Raj Rana, Moon wankhar. Executive Member Dilip Gurung, Suren Chettri, Dilip Chettri, Kumar Tamang, Maya Chettri, Parena Lama, Jyoti Tamang.

Nongthymmai ‘open to all’ football tournament kicks off
SHILLONG: The Uplifter Alternative along with Nongthymmai Sports & Cultural Club, Shillong; kicked off the Open to All Football Tournament 2018 on Saturday at Nongthymmai ground. J.C Cajee, chairman of the Tournament Organizing Committee informed that the aim of the Tournament is to allow youngsters to showcase their talent in football and ensure they do not get into drugs and other bad habits. The tournament will have awards for Best Player, Top Goal Scorer, Best Goal Keeper, Best Young Player, Best Fair Play Team, Best Celebration Goal, Most Entertaining Team, Man of the Match, Best Enthusiastic fan of the Tournament. The winning team will bag Rs 30,000 along with the trophy and the second team will also get monetary award.
