Science Congress for children held in Resubelpara

TURA: With the objective to encourage scientific temperament in the young minds of the school students and in the process enabling them to solve local problems through the application of Science, the 26th National Children‘s Science Congress at the district level was organized for the students of North Garo Hills district at Resubelpara Government U.P School on Friday.

The Science Congress was held under the theme “Science, Technology & Innovation for Clean, Green & Healthy Nation”, sponsored by State Council of Science Technology & Environment (SCSTE), Shillong in tandem with Planning Department, North Garo Hills.

Deputy Commissioner, S.C.Sadhu while inaugurating the event said such programmes will help broaden the understanding of science and provide opportunity for the children to exhibit their talents by participating in science related activities such as project documentation, oral and posters presentation. He also urged the students to kindle their passion for Science and added that the interest for Science and its allied subjects should not end with the culmination of the programme.
Schools selected to represent the district at the State level were Resubelpara Government Higher Secondary School, Paschal Secondary School at the Senior level and Montfort School and Paschal Secondary School at the junior level.
