JOWAI: A 25-year-old NSCN-K cadre has been arrested in Jaintia Hills.
The cadre, identified as Taddulung Kamei, was involved in crimes like abduction and extortion in Manipur. Kamei was arrested at 8th Mile in West Jaintia Hills when he was travelling to Shillong.
West Jaintia Hills police identified the rebel during a routine vehicle check.
The accused is from Sibling village in Tamenglang in Manipur. Kamei’s wife and child were also among four others travelling with Kamei.
Earlier in May, a senior leader and two cadres of NSCN-K were arrested in Jaintia Hills.
