SHILLONG: The Umsning Bypass, an integral part of Guwahati-Shillong road, is likely to be completed by the end of this month.
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari recently said that the project would be completed within months.
An official implementing the project said they would finish the project by October 31 and 95 per cent work is complete.
“Right now, we are only working in two junctions from where the bypass starts and ends,” the official said and added that they have started with road signs, painting of the road and other works.
Once the road is complete, a safety audit will be done.
