SHILLONG: Timely intervention of the fire service and the police prevented what could have been a major fire tragedy after a commercial LPG cylinder was found leaking in a jewellery shop in Jhalupara on Thursday.
The leaked cylinder caused nearby shopkeepers to panic and shut down their shutters. However, the police and the Fire and Emergency Service reached the spot on time and averted a fire incident.
