SHILLONG: PDF Ministers, Banteidor Lyngdoh and Hamletson Lyngdoh on Thursday met Chief Minister Conrad Sangma with an appeal to speed up setting up entry and exit points to curb influx.
Dohling asserted that the delay in setting up the entry and exit points will increase the threat of influx into the state.
“The CM has assured to take up the matter seriously and informed that he will send a group of ministers led by the Home Minister James K Sangma to visit Mendipathar for inspection before setting up the points’, Dohling said.
The Ministers also demanded that the check gate at 19 mile, Ri-Bhoi should start functioning to tackle the flow of illegal immigrants.
