Cops nab 3 in SBI manager’s murder case

GUWAHATI: Assam police have arrested three persons in the connection with the murder of Junu Sarma, the service manager of State Bank of India, Dadara branch under Hajo police station in Kamrup district.

In a press statement issued here on Sunday, police here confirmed that Md Saddam Hussain, 25, of Hajo, Sunil Kumar Mishra, 59, of Kanaklata Path here, and Pranab Kalita, 43, of Nizarapar (Chandmari) here have been arrested in connection with case number 802/18 registered under Section 302 IPC, R/W 25(A)/ 27 of Arms Act at Hajo police station.

Further investigation of the case is on, police sources said.

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne gunmen had shot Sarma dead from close range while she was returning home in her car at Agiathori near here on the evening of October 9.

Her driver rushed her to a private hospital not too far from the site of the incident, but she was declared brought dead.
