Last minute exam re-schedule irks SWGH citizens
TURA: The order by the District School Education Officer (DSEO) of South West Garo Hills announcing the postponement of selection exams just one day prior to it taking place on Thursday has irked many from the district who have questioned the rationality behind the last minute announcement. The order by the DSEO was given out only on Wednesday where it was notified that October 25 being the death anniversary of the first Meghalaya Chief Minister, Late Captain Williamson A Sangma, the Science and Technology examination scheduled for the date will instead be held on November 1. Earlier on October 16, the South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner like his counterparts from other districts had declared the day (Oct 25) a local holiday on account of the occasion. With the exam schedule already being announced a few weeks earlier, the official had ample time to re-schedule the day’s examination but for some reason chose to make the announcement at the last minute.
