MAWKYRWAT: The Ranikor Youth Congress Committee (RYCC) has supported the Block Congress Committee’s decision to field Air Marshall Diengngan in the district council election next year.
Vincent Tegite Sangma, the party youth organiser from the constituency, informed that the youth wing has unanimously agreed to support Diengngan as the party candidate. “Therefore, we request the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) to accept the RBCC proposal for the party candidature in Ranikor for the council election even though applications were received from others too,” Sangma said.
He also informed that the party will organise a general youth meet before December 15 at Khonjoy village near Nongjri to discuss various issues, especially to strengthen the party to ensure Diengngan’s victory. Block Congress president Khrang Lyngkhoi recently informed that the committee had approved Diengngan as candidate and the proposal was submitted to the district unit. However, with another aspirant, Daniel Wahlang lodging a complaint with the state leadership against the manner of recommending Diengngan’s name, the MPCC has decided to intervene by instructing the Ranikor unit to call another meeting and inform all the leaders.
