Students, teachers sensitised on legal rights

JOWAI: With an aim to make students and teachers aware of their legal rights, the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), West Jaintia Hills organized a legal awareness programme at Mukhla Raij Higher Secondary School in the District on Thursday.
DLSA, secretary, D Marbaniang while highlighting the aims and objectives of the programme, called upon the students and teachers of the school to be aware of their rights. He also stressed on the role of Legal Aid Counsels and Para Legal Volunteers stating that their role is important in the present society.
Legal Aid Counsels M. Pyrthuh and D. Lamare and PLV J Myrmen spoke on their duties as Legal Aid Counsels and PLV.
