Child abandoned

Shillong: The Office of the District Child Protection Unit and Child Welfare Committee, East Khasi Hills district informed that a five-year-old girl identified as Esha was rescued by Childline, BIDS, Nongthymmai, Nongshilliang, from Lapalang on December 26, 2017. The child is still under the care of the government. Efforts from the office and Nongmynsong Police Outpost have been made to trace the parents but till now they are untraceable.
It also informed that anyone who has information regarding the child may contact the concerned offices or Childline. If no one claims the child within two months, the child will be declared legally free for adoption.
