NONGPOH: A bus shed constructed under the KHADC Special Assistance Scheme 2015-16 in Ri Bhoi district, has been closed down temporarily allegedly due to the interference of local MDC Donkupar Sumer.
The contractor, Miningstone Marbaniang, informed media persons that he had completed construction of the bus shed at Erpakon village under Umsning constituency, but was forced to close down the bus shed temporarily since the Council did not release the money (Rs 1 lakh) for the project.
Elaborating on the matter, he said the work order was issued by the KHADC to Erpakon village on March 12 and the village Dorbar allotted him the work which was completed as per the time frame given by the Council.
“On completion of the scheme, the Dorbar Shnong of Erpakon gave me the completion certificate to claim the bill. However, on September 17, I got a letter from the Deputy Secretary of the KHADC Executive Committee mentioning that the scheme had been cancelled as per suggestion given by Umsning MDC Donkupar Sumer and non-compliance of the Council’s instructions,” Marbaniang said.
