West Garo Hills tops MRVC achievement with 97%

 TURA: West Garo Hills District has reportedly topped the state with regard to the implementation of Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) by achieving 97% as on November 7 as 166855 beneficiaries have received vaccination out of the total target of 172082 children in the district.

This was informed during the 4th District Task Force Committee (DTFC) meeting held at Tura Circuit House on the same day where West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman District Health Society, Ram Singh, District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), Dr M R Sangma and other health officials attended.

During the meeting, while assessing and reviewing the performance of the district, Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh congratulated all those involved in the immunisation process for their support and hard work towards the successful implementation of the immunisation campaign in the district in spite of few refusal pockets and hard to reach areas. He also expressed his gratitude to the heads of schools in the district for their support and cooperation during the campaign.

Nodal Officer, Dr I M Sangma while briefing the overall performance of the district, informed the gathering that despite various constraints faced, the immunisation team managed to achieved 97 per cent in the district and added that tackling the refusal villages is still a challenge for the team since there are still 43 partially refusal villages to be covered in the district.
