SHILLONG: Tourism Minister Metbah Lyngdoh has stressed the need to organise trekking events in other parts of the state besides Sohra.
Speaking during the 3rd National Trekking and Caving organsied by the Youth Hostel, Meghalaya branch, the minister suggested that the organiser should focus on trekking areas not only in Sohra but other parts of the state too, including Jaintia and West Khasi Hills.
He also appealed to participants from outside Meghalaya to become ambassadors when they return to their respective states. There were over 150 trekkers.
