MAWKYRWAT: The Ranikor Block Congress Committee (RBCC) has once again recommended Air Marshall Diengngan as the party candidate for the upcoming MDC election to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) from the constituency.
Sources in the RBCC informed that the decision was taken during a meeting held at Mawkyrwat on Thursday in which majority of the leaders and supporters chose Diengngan as the candidate.
“More than 80 per cent of the leaders and supporters of the party who were present in the meeting chose Diengngan as the candidate over Daniel Wahlang (another ticket aspirant),” sources in the party informed.
This is the second time that the RBCC had recommended Diengngan’s name.
The party first proposed his name at a meeting held at Panchering ‘B’ near Ranikor on October 17.
Earlier, Wahlang lodged a complaint with the state leadership against the manner of recommending Diengngan’s name in which he claimed that he was not informed, the MPCC has decided to intervene by instructing the Ranikor constituency unit to call another meeting and inform all the leaders.
