RDA wants spl session for language resolution

SHILLONG: The Regional Democratic Alliance has urged the state government to convene a special session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly at the earliest to modify the earlier resolution passed for inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
“We want the government to convene the special session at the earliest so that the resolution can be modified,” HSPDP MLA Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar on Monday.
The State Legislative Assembly had recently approved a resolution asking the Centre to include Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
