SHILLONG: The Meghalaya People’s United Front-East Jaintia District (MPUF-EJHD) expressed concern on the allegation made by Agnes Kharshiing that NGOs get money from coal owners.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the MPUF-EJHD asserted that they are not involved in such act as alleged by Kharshiing.
“We are not aware of illegal mining and transportation of coal in East Jaintia Hills and we laud the district administration and the police department for making sure there is no illegal mining and transportation of coal,” the statement said.
Expressing concern on the assault of Kharshiing and Amita Sangma, the organisation demanded Kharshiing and Emiki Kurbah to substantiate their claims of organisations getting money.
