SHILLONG: The EMRI ambulance service in Meghalaya started on Monday afternoon, hours after it was affected due to a major glitch in BSNL’s optical fibre network.
A press statement issued by GVK EMRI said calls to EMS DIAL 108 were not landing since 11.45 pm on Sunday due to a major breakdown.
However, people were asked to call 9856030108 for emergencies during the downtime.
Later on Monday afternoon, EMS DIAL 108 was restored. Another statement said the PRI optical fibre lines were repaired and “all calls are landing normally to EMS DIAL 108”.
