All set for Manipur tourism festival from today
IMPHAL: All is set for the grand opening of the biggest tourism festival of the State, ‘Manipur Sangai Festival’ on November 21. Participants from nine countries, Princess of Thailand, polo players from US, Britain, Haiti, Uruguay, Sumo wrestlers from Japan and others will be attending the festival. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today inspected the preparations going on at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong in Imphal West District, which is one of the festival venues. Speaking to reporters, the chief minister said this year’s Manipur Sangai Festival is going to create history because it is being planned to organise in three venues of both hill and valley districts viz. Imphal, Mao and Keibul Lamjao for the first time. Moreover, many foreign dignitaries are also attending the festival, he said while adding that around 100 delegates from Myanmar would reach here tonight to witness the grand event. (UNI)
7th International Tourism Mart in Agartala
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura and the North Eastern States is organizing the “International Tourism Mart” in Agartala, Tripura from November 22-24, 2018. The event will be held at the Pragna Bhawan, and will be inaugurated on November 22 by the Governor of Tripura, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, in the presence of Union Minister for Tourism, Shri K.J Alphons, Chief Minister of Tripura , Shri. Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Tourism Secretary Smt. Rashmi Verma and other dignitaries from Central Ministries and North Eastern States. This is the 7th edition of the International Tourism Mart, an annual event organised in the North Eastern region with the objective of highlighting the tourism potential of the region in the domestic and international markets.
Tripura CPM to hold state conference on Nov 25
AGARTALA: Tripura CPI (M) will hold two days 22nd state conference on November 25 next at Town Hall here to discuss the latest political situation of the state and strategy to counter growth of the saffron party besides core political and ideological issues. According to party leaders, there will be no open rally this time before the commencement of the proceedings of the conference unlike in the past when an open rally used to precede the formal beginning of the state conference. The dais of the conference will commemorate the departed leaders- late CPI (M) leaders, Khagen Das, Samir Deb Sarkar, Sandhya Debbarma and Khagendra Jamatia- who passed away after 21st state conference.
