Lab technician kills self
A female lab technician of Super Care Hospital in the city killed herself inside the hospital campus. The incident took place on Sunday last.
The staff did not notice anything unusual when the lab technician came for duty.

Accident
On Wednesday around 2:00 am, one truck (HR-65A-5110) driven by Kuldeep Singh (33) capsized on the road at Umtrew in Ri Bhoi. As a result, the driver and handyman of the truck sustained injuries and were taken to CHC Umsning by an Umsning-based 108 ambulance.
Rubert Mawlong (40) sustained injuries after he lost control of his motorcycle at Umran Dairy around 9:55 pm on Tuesday. Mawlong was taken to Umsning CHC by an Umsning-based 108 ambulance.
On November 16 around 4:30 am, one truck (WB-65C-0086) driven by Md. Rafil Sheikh, dashed against a guard wall and plunged into a gorge at Mookyndur village in West Jaintia Hills. The handyman identified as Tariful Sekh died on the spot.

Body recovered
On November 17, the dead body of Patied Lakiang was recovered from Syntuksiar in West Jaintia Hills. The body was later handed out to the relatives of the deceased.

Embezzlement
M Ngaihte, Chief Manager, SBI, Jowai Branch lodged a complaint stating that between November 7, 2016 and June 9, 2017, Trainee Officer Uttam Kumar misappropriated the Fixed Deposit interest amounting to Rs 6,55,000.

Fraud
Muanthang Valte lodged a complaint on Wednesday stating that he had applied for a job through Naukri.com after seeing an advertisement on OLX. The complainant said that he had contacted two persons identified as Akash Verma and Vivek Kumar who duped him into depositing Rs 25,499 in an HDFC account.

Missing
Bobina M Marak lodged an FIR on November 1 stating that her mentally challenged son identified as Ezars M Marak (24) had gone missing from her residence at Dorambokgre in South West Garo Hills since the first week of November.

Shop gutted
On November 19 around 7:20 pm, a fire broke out in one electronics shop belonging to Firoz Bodoli Islam at Rajabala Bazar in West Garo Hills, reportedly due to an electric short circuit. The loss of property is estimated to be around Rs 1 lakh.

Theft
Luminous G Momin lodged a complaint stating that on November 9 around 2:15 pm, one labourer identified as Raju stole his cell-phone and his sister’s purse containing two ATM cards from Hatath Colony in Laban.
