Residents change locality name, form devp panel

TURA: Residents of Samguri locality in Tura recently held a meeting where a decision was taken to change the name of the locality from ‘Samguri’ to Lower Walbakgre.
The residents also formed a locality development committee on the same day under the name Lower Walbakgre Development Committee, New Tura. Office bearers elected to lead the new committee include Monilson T Sangma as President, Angelus M sangma as Vice President, Napoleon M Sangma as Secretary, Linda M Marak as Joint Secretary, Cherian R Sangma as Accountant and Christina N Marak as Treasurer including one Chief Organizer and seven executive members.
Meanwhile, the A’chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) which came into being recently under the leadership of former GNLA Chairman Champion R Sangma has also formed its new unit for Tikrikilla region.
The AHAM in Tikrikilla will be led by Thoseng Cheba A Sangma as President, Kenfew D Shira as Vice President, Raphael B Marak as Assam in-charge Vice President, Lenush M Marak as Secretary, Sengcheng R Marak as Joint Secretary and Robith A Sangma as Additional General Secretary among others.
