State farmers want Israel agri tech for better crops, marketing

SHILLONG: The Hill Farmer’s Union (HFU) on Friday met the Counsellor Head of economic and trade mission of the Embassy of Israel in New Delhi and expressed interest in learning the country’s technology in the primary sector.
The delegation led by HFU president Commander Shangpliang met Barak Granot and Dan Alluf, who is the Counsellor International Development Corporation, at Meghalaya House in New Delhi.
The meeting discussed on how Israel can advise the state in terms of technology used in agriculture and marketing of agricultural produce.
Granot was interested in the idea and was willing to work with the union and the state government for agricultural development.
The farmers’ union stated that Granot and Alluf are willing to come to Meghalaya and spend time with the farmers.
The union and the two officials from Israel expressed willingness to work together.
