FIR filed against FB user for threatening community

TURA: An FIR has been filed at Tura Police Station against a particular Facebook user for brazenly threatening and making derogatory remarks against people belonging to a particular community, in a video of himself which was posted a few days earlier.

The FIR was filed by the A’chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM), a newly floated organization led by former GNLA Chairman, Champion R Sangma, against the holder of FB account by the name of L S T Rabha.

The video which has outraged many users was uploaded to the FB group, the A’chik Whatapps Group. In the short video clip which lasted for about 24 seconds, Rabha can be seen insulting and issuing threats against the community as well as making derogatory remarks against girls of the same community.

Pointing out that the malicious act had cause serious damage to the reputation and dignity of the community, which could also lead to communal disharmony and violence, AHAM sought in the FIR that a criminal case is registered against the culprit to ensure that justice is served to the affected community.
