NEHU security men hassle reporters

SHILLONG: Media persons had a tough time at the 25th convocation of the NEHU as private security personnel prevented them from entering the venue.
When reporters requested the security personnel to allow them inside the venue, one of them replied, “You should have come on time.”
He said he had received “instructions from inside” that no one should be allowed to enter the hall when the function is on.
The media persons reached when the dignitaries were readying to proceed to the dais for the ceremony.The convocation was scheduled at 11 am and it started at 11.15 am. Later, the reporters were allowed inside the hall when Vice-chancellor SK Srivastava was halfway through his welcome address.
Again, two journalists who reached the venue around 11.15 am were not allowed to enter the hall. They went in only after East Khasi Hills SP (City) SA Rynjah intervened.
