Workshop on conservation of biodiversity held

TURA: A one day National Workshop on Conservation of Biodiversity (NWCB 2018) was organized by the Department of Horticulture, NEHU, Tura Campus in collaboration with the Department of Botany, Goalpara College, Assam and Department of Zoology, Don Bosco College, Tura under the aegis of DBT, New Delhi sponsored foldscope Scheme on Wednesday.

The inaugural programme of the workshop was attended by Divisional Forest Officer of East and West Garo Hills, Nazia R D Marak as the Chief Guest and Retired District Horticulture Officer from West Garo Hills, Crosspillar Marak as the Guest of Honour in the presence of NEHU officials and students.

The workshop was participated by students, research scholars, government officials, mid career scientists and University & College teachers. A thorough knowledge about the biodiversity and its conservation aspects in macro and micro level were disseminated by different speakers to build the knowhow and provide exposure regarding the recent trends in the field of biodiversity.
